Discussions began in early 2025 and, as Perkins Coie and Ashurst have come to know each other, it has become increasingly clear that our two firms are uniquely well-suited. Both firms are ambitious and focused on our clients' success. We have enjoyed strong growth in recent years and share a vision for how we can accelerate that growth together as Ashurst Perkins Coie.

We expect to close on this combination in Q3 of 2026, subject to a partner vote at both firms and other customary conditions to closing. Until then, both firms will continue to operate independently.

Who will lead Ashurst Perkins Coie?
Ashurst Perkins Coie will be led by Bill Malley and Paul Jenkins as Global Co-CEOs, ensuring continuity of leadership as the combined firm enters its next phase of growth. Karen Davies of Ashurst and Brian Eiting of Perkins Coie will be Co-Chairs of the combined firm. Mark Birnbaum, the current Chair of Perkins Coie’s Executive Committee, whose regular term expires at the end of 2025, will continue serving in that role through closing.
